Master of Precision Health (MPRH), Medicine, Laddered Pathway

Completion requirement

In addition to the Faculty of Graduate Studies requirements and Cumming School of Medicine requirements, the Master of Precision Health, Laddered Pathway, requires 9 units of coursework and culminates in an experiential learning capstone project with a community or academic partner.

Cumming School of Medicine Completion Requirements

Research Integrity Day

All graduate students in the Cumming School of Medicine are required to attend Research Integrity Day.


Sex and Gender Training Module

All graduate students in the Cumming School of Medicine are required to complete one CIHR online training module here: Integrating Sex and Gender in Health Research.


Immunizations

All students in graduate programs in the Cumming School of Medicine are required to complete a series of immunizations and diagnostic tests as outlined on the Student Immunization Worksheet.

Throughout their graduate program, students are required to ensure that immunizations are current and provide proof of updates to the Cumming School of Medicine. Failure to do so may result in students being removed from the program until such time as adequate proof has been provided. Please note that requirements may change during the program as determined by Alberta Health Services guidelines. Contact your Graduate Program Administrator for more information.

Completion requirement

Advanced Credit

At the time of admission, a student may seek credit for coursework completed before entering their University of Calgary graduate program. For more information, see Advanced Credit.


Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade)

The Graduate programs in the Cumming School Medicine will not permit the Flexible Grade Option (CG Grade) for any course offered by the Cumming School of Medicine.

Students may not choose the CG grade for a course taken extra to load.

The use of the CG grade may affect students’ eligibility for internal awards.


Credit for Undergraduate Courses

Credit will not be given for undergraduate-level courses.


Time Limit

The expected completion time for the laddered pathway Master’s, is 10 months, with a maximum completion time of two years.
